A French Order Of The Lily; Cross Of The Lily 1814-1824 Auction emboss stamped "I(Ordre du Lys, Croix du Lys) : Silver with blue and white enamels, Gold centrepiece on the obverse, 24 mm x 37. 5 mm, extensive chipping evident in both the white and blue enamels, fine. Footnote: The Order was created on April 26, 1814 by the Ordinance of the Comte dArtois (later King Charles X, reigning 1824 1830) acting as Lieutenant General of the Kingdom. It was intended to reward the National Guard of Paris for service in defence of Paris, of
