Mid Century Modern Wall Tile of Sunflowers, West German Art Pottery Plaque majolica It measures 16 1/4" tallA large and sculptural ceramic wall tile with decor of sunflowers rendered in high relief set against a frothy dead matte blue fat lava glaze . It measures 16 1 4" tall and 9" wide and 3 4" thick. There are incised holes on the top edge and wire to facilitate hanging. It's made from a heavy red clay and the back is unmarked but attributed to Ruscha. These plaques were meant to be hung on the walls of a home or garden and used like a ceramic painting.
